We are sisters... we are friends. Ayun. Blog lang ng magkapatid na nagpapalipas ng oras, tambay dito sa blogdrive paminsan-minsan. Masaya naman. Mahilig kami sa music, movies, hot guys, anime, chocolate, libro, at pets. Voice talents din kami. Ayun. kitakits. ^^
I serendipitously stumbled upon Paulo Coelho's blog, a gem in the web if you ask me. I'd like to share this particular entry about relationships with other people.
Reader Alvaro Conegundes tells that during the ice age many animals
died because of the cold. Seeing this situation, the porcupines decided
to group together, so they wrapped up well and protected one another.
But they hurt one another with their thorns, and so then they decided to stay apart from one another.
They started to freeze to death again. So they had to make a choice:
either they vanished from the face of the earth or they accepted their
neighbor’s thorns.
They wisely decided to stay together again. They learned to live
with the small wounds that a very close relationship could cause,
because the most important thing was the warmth given by the other.
Now this wasn't really on my to-do list, but I just saw the first episode of the Honey and Clover live action TV series featuring Ikuta Toma and the girl who played Ako in 1 Litre of Tears.
I got giddy all over!!!
The guy who played Nobu in Nana is Morita-san!!! How fitting! He's funny without even trying!
Once again I was transported to the familiar college setting of dorm living, food issues, human professors, crazy friends, and identy crisis. Also, the first episode is beautiful. I was treated to an eye-candy of cherry blossoms, as if the fresh scent of spring wafted right out of the screen. Who wouldn't fall in love with the beautiful Hagu in such an idyllic moment?
What I like most is the way they captured the feel of the anime in this first episode, so I hope this keeps up all the way to the final. I've read a lot of bad reviews about the movie and the first part literally bore my brains out, but I am glad I attempted to watch the live action series. If it weren't for Ikuta Toma, I wouldn't have. And if it weren't for Morita, I won't bother with episode 2.
Okay, so it's official---everybody's favorite vampire love story (Twilight, unless, you've been living under a rock in Tibet) is going to be made into a tv series, here in the Philippines by no less than----ABS-CBN! yay! The people who turned the beloved My Girl Series into crap, and made Betty La Fea emo and mushy! *toink! stop being so harsh!* *sorry...*
So I'm over reacting but I actually haven't seen the movie yet. As usual, my sister is lambasting me for it, the same way she has lambasted me for months for not watching her favorite movie, Gangster High. A slap here and there, and some "you're missing half of your life" ditty. As if I didn't know that already.
One only needs fanatic friends and family and the internet to learn about Takipsilim, yes, that's the pinoy name Twilight will assume from now on. Hey, what will they name the sequel series, Bagong Buwan?
I wonder why we're running out of great, original ideas. I've witnessed some of the country's best storytellers, but our major tv stations are airing Korea/Chinovelas and doing remakes here and there, almost mimicking everything we're not. Why is that???
Our country is a sort of "capital" of paranormal activities, and our culture is replete with stories and sketches of ghosts, aswangs, and the like. So why not make a different supernatural story, a love story all the same but an original tale straight out of the ancestral cabinets in Antique or Capiz? Maalaala Mo Kaya style. We're not from the Visayas, but my grandmother often tell stories about a kapre wanting to take her as his wife when she and her son were living in Batangas. This was when she was a young mother, and she was not yet pregnant with my mom. She was terrified, of course, and her father-in-law slash manggagamot recited incantations to repel the giant away. Start with that base story, blow it out of proportions, and you may get Rosario, a tale of love, deceit, and warlock father-in-laws fighting renegade elements in the Marlboro business. Place them in the cosmopolitan city as you like.
If you want to cater to the younger set, cross the paranormal love story with Gossip Girl and then sprinkle it with cheesy lines delivered in a macho way. I love love stories with gorgeous bitches and love triangles and wolves. Wow, do I hear Lobo?
You really want Rayver and Shaina doing a supernatural number eh? Hmmmm... Shaina would look great as a manananggal, and Rayver as a... rich bastard. I'm not kidding. Making him a bastard son of a rich family falling in love with another rich girl albeit of mananaggal blood can create lots of conflict, I mean, pinoys can create conflicts out of anything, right? Shaina is immortal like the HIghlander and doesn't eat people but rats, like Louis de Pointe du Lac. Rayver is goody-two-shoes Dan, and we throw in a Jacob Black character with the personality of Chuck Bass (Jake Cuenca?). Let's do a crossover and get Angel Locsin working again as Lyka, Rayver's sister who is actually a--- werewolf. Surprise! Rayver's family's mutant, too, and he's the only normal person here, and he holds the... The Cube.
Okay, so I need to see Twilight first before I make anymore suggestions, because for all I know, I may be doing snippets or telling the exact same story altogether.
Let's deviate a bit from the genre... Why not make it a comedy?!
It is a little known fact that we love fragrances.
Wag mo akong simulan sa: it marries the spicy sparkle of ginger with the ice-cold softness of litchi sorbet and the suave zest of mandarin* lalala… Aamuyin ko lang yan in the end.
Anyway, sa kwento ng Denenes, wala akong idea kahit sa itsura ng bote. May internet nga pala noh, hehe.
OY MA!
Denenes oh!
Weh. Cologne pala. Akala ko encased in a sophisticated bottle that elegantly defines the curves of a budding lass in the meadows during the light of spring. But no. Nasa bote na may picture ng baby. Cute naman.
Dinampot ko ito, binuksan, at inamoy. Weh. Amoy katol. Naglagay ako sa kamay ng konti. MMMmmmm… Hmmm.. Weh! Amoy Peter! Amoy Bunny! Amoy Fisher Price toy train!!! (totoo, may amoy ang plastic trains at Lego pieces namin noon)
100+ ata ang presyo ng isang 50 ml bottle. Basta ang natatandaan ko lang, napa-WEH! ako. Er, next time na lang. Pag may baby na ko.
